Holistic ethical organisational culture

Universitas Indonesia (UI) is deeply rooted in a set of nine cultural values that guide the conduct and ethos of its community. These values include Honesty, Fairness, Trustworthiness, Dignity, Responsibility and Accountability, Solidarity, Openness, Academic Freedom, and Adherence to Rules. These principles serve as the foundational pillars for the entire UI community, encapsulating the expected behavioral indicators that inform the actions and decisions of its members. To ensure these values are more than just ideals, UI has detailed them into specific behavioral indicators, serving as a practical reference for all its constituents.

UI’s commitment extends beyond academic excellence to encompass ethical governance, evidenced by its staunch stance against corruption, collusion, and nepotism. This ethical framework is not confined to the university’s central administration but permeates all faculties and units within the institution, ensuring a uniformly high standard of integrity and transparency across the board. In line with these values, the Faculty of Public Health has taken a proactive step by creating a pocketbook for its academic staff, lecturers, students, and the various services within the faculty. This pocketbook serves as a tangible resource that encapsulates the faculty’s commitment to the university’s core values, offering guidance and clarity on the expected standards of behavior and ethical conduct. It is a reflection of the faculty’s dedication to not only imparting knowledge but also fostering a culture of ethical integrity and responsibility among its members.
