Our Goals in Action

Relationships to Support the Goals

Strategic alliances and partnerships formed between individuals, organizations, or nations that align with and actively contribute to achieving shared objectives. These synergistic connections leverage collective resources, expertise, and actions to effectively pursue and attain established ambitions or targets.

Universitas Indonesia actively builds strategic partnerships with regional NGOs and the government to promote sustainable policies in achieving the SDGs, particularly in environmental conservation, health, and local economic empowerment. UI collaborates with regional NGOs and government bodies to support policies that align with sustainability goals related to environmental preservation, health, and economic empowerment of local communities. Under SDG 17, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP UI) and various other faculties leverage these collaborations to strengthen development initiatives that positively impact society. One example is the partnership between the UI Faculty of Pharmacy and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) to utilize marine biota as raw materials for pharmaceuticals, aiming to sustainably develop pharmaceutical products based on Indonesia’s marine biodiversity.

Additionally, the Institute for Economic and Social Research (LPEM FEB UI) organizes events to raise awareness and capacity in sustainable finance. Events such as the “Seminar on Green Finance: A Lesson Learned From The Republic of Korea” and “Assessing Physical and Transition Risk of Climate Change” provide insights into the importance of impactful investments to support the transition towards a carbon-neutral society in Asia. Through initiatives like ECONOMIX Compassion Act and seminars like “The Direction of Indonesia’s Economic, Education, and Health Policies,” UI continues to support sustainability pathways by emphasizing the importance of collaborative research and innovative approaches to environmentally responsible development that benefits local communities.
