SDG 13: CLIMATE ACTION

Climate change is a crisis that will affect every part of society, and every country. Universities need to be at the forefront of action to reduce the impact of climate change, especially amongst the poorest who will be the most affected.

Low-carbon Energy Tracking

The commitment to use low-carbon energy is seen in UI’s efforts to reduce the carbon footprint in the UI area, one of which is done by means of sorting incoming vehicles and implementing parking policies and land use. Universitas Indonesia uses electrical energy from the State Electricity Company (PLN) and renewable energy (low-carbon sources). Renewable energy production that has been implemented at this time is in the form of solar panels used for both street lighting and electricity use in several rooms.
