On Thursday, September 26, 2024, the University of Indonesia (UI) conducted a comparative study on the Whistleblowing System (WBS) with the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPANRB). The meeting, held in the Samudra Pasai Room at the KemenPANRB office in Jakarta, was attended by representatives from both institutions.
The discussion began with a presentation on the public complaint application LAPOR!, managed by KemenPANRB under the Deputy for Public Services. Established under Law No. 25 of 2009, the platform serves as a centralized system for receiving public complaints nationwide, focusing on enhancing openness and transparency. KemenPANRB emphasized that all reports are handled with strict attention to security and privacy, ensuring confidentiality for anonymous reporters.
In addition, KemenPANRB has been strengthening public awareness through campaigns such as “Lapor Goes to Campus” and “Lapor Goes to Pesantren.” These programs aim to boost public participation in reporting issues related to public services. UI representatives inquired about security mechanisms and report classification, which were addressed in detail by KemenPANRB representatives, highlighting the importance of multi-layered verification and collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) in using National Identity Numbers (NIK).
The discussion concluded with an agreement to continue collaboration between UI and KemenPANRB to enhance the understanding and implementation of WBS in both institutions. The meeting ended with an exchange of souvenirs as a token of appreciation.
